When we walked into the elevator at the W Santiago hotel, I was reminded it was afternoon. Realizing that they changed the elevator welcome mats depending on the time of day, I took a quick pic with my iPhone and waited for the door to open again.
The hotel is located in Santiago, the capital city of Chile surrounded by the Andes Mountains. In fact, I don’t think I lost sight of the mountains during our visit in the city. And you definitely won’t lose sight of it when you visit the W Santiago.
When the elevator doors opened, the first thing we wanted to do was take a peek at the W Santiago’s rooftop bar because it’s known to have a spectacular view.
The bar, called Red2One is known as Santiago’s most exclusive bar where you can get a view of the city’s skyline and Andes Mountains. Unfortunately, we were informed it was closed for renovation. But it was suggested that we go to the pool instead, just a level below the rooftop bar where there’s also an amazing view.
W Santiago’s outdoor heated rooftop pool called WET is located on the 21st floor. The written description in reviews of the hotel and the concierge’s suggestion didn’t compare to what it was like to actually be at the pool. Take a look:
The pool, the view of Santiago and snow capped Andes Mountains was a view unlike any I’d ever seen.
Heading back inside, I immediately took a seat in the stylish W Lounge. The lounge is part of the lobby where you can order snacks or drinks. There’s also complimentary WiFi in the public areas including the lounge, so my picture was instantly uploaded to Instagram.
If you stay at the W Santiago hotel, there’s lots to do in the area called Las Condes. A mall, Parque Arauco, just a few blocks away is where I felt like I never left the US. In fact, you’ll recognize several of the restaurants like T.G.I. Friday’s, Ruby Tuesday, P.F. Chang, Starbucks and more.
With all activities that Santiago has to offer, just don’t forget to take a swim at the rooftop pool or just take a glimpse of the amazing view.
