Another eventful day. Or maybe that’s what I’ll start all posts with haha.
Day 4. No walk today but here are flowers outside of a cathedral yesterday. Ecuador produces and exports lots of roses. (photo above)
Because of the altitude and probably the diet here that I’m not used to, my stomach was not cooperating with me 🙁
Fortunately, peppermint to the rescue! When traveling with my family, my mom always insisted we take a few Young Living essential oils. The basics for traveling: Peppermint, DiGize, Lavender (my fav!).
I still felt blehhh but went a little outside of Cuenca in a town called Tarqui where there’s a Bible school. All while speaking Spanish, I met some of the students and found out they grow their own vegetables and have a ton of animals!
Being a city person… here’s the first carrot I’ve ever picked right out of the ground! It’s organic!
And also a donkey… don’t they have an amazing view?!
Here’s another shot.
Afterwards, in Cuenca it was time for a youth group at a church. (in Spanish) I haven’t been to a youth group in forever since traveling.
Won’t lie- I was confused. Like here’s the deal. Speaking Spanish conversationally is easy. Then when you listen to others speak (and fast)- it’s easy to zone out. I find when I zone out for a moment, it’s hard to get back in.
But hey, I’m learning.
So pictures make my day look all sunshine and rainbows. But really at night my stomach was not good either. 🙁 it’ll take some time to get used to…
