Photo of the Day: Le Pain Quotidien NYC

le pain quotidien

I was given the task of finding a bakery or somewhere our group could sit, drink coffee and talk. We were on the Upper East side and I knew there were so many places we could go to.

We happened to walk by Le Pain Quotidien bakery. The outside of the bakery (today’s photo of the day) was what led me inside.

The name Le Pain Quotidien means the daily bread in French and they are known for their bread. The store in particular on Madison Avenue was the first location opened in NYC.

First thing you’ll notice as you walk in is a giant communal table. We sat at the table with three other groups of diners. It seems strange to sit with random people but really it just made you feel like you were eating at home.

Be sure to try one of Le Pain Quotidien’s tartines, a Belgian open faced sandwich along with a cup of tea or coffee which they serve in bowls!
