To visit the world’s largest Buddhist temple, Borobudur in Indonesia requires getting up early in the morning. Some go to watch the sunrise- waking up as early as 3 am.
Due to being rainy season, there was a chance we wouldn’t be able to see the sunrise, so we instead we planned to reach Borobudur when it opens at 6 am.

1. Indonesia is very hot. You’ll avoid the intense heat of midday.
2. It’s not that crowded. Towards the end of our visit, hundreds of people were there- mostly school children running around.
