In the city known for its variety and endless options for food, I chose Chobani SoHo. Chobani is the brand synonymous with Greek yogurt and they only have one cafe- Chobani SoHo, which is located in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood.
I’m a huge Chobani fan. In fact, I ate it all the time before we started long term traveling in South America (they don’t sell it there). Then a few weeks before our plane ride to our first destination, Chobani contacted me and sent a package with their new products- at the time, their pear and banana flavors and new product called Chobani Bite.
They also included a Chobani spoon… so I’m pretty much a fan for life.
But it’s not just the Chobani name that brought me to the cafe. Chobani SoHo is a one-of-a-kind Mediterranean yogurt bar and they only use natural ingredients. Their menu consists of sandwiches, soups, coffee and tea along with the main attractions- sweet and savory ‘yogurt creations’! These creations are perfect combinations of natural ingredients added to their plain yogurt.
I knew we had found Chobani SoHo on 152 Prince Street when I spotted the long Chobani banner running up the entire building. And to say the least- I was excited!
When we walked inside, there was a counter for ordering things to go. And since we were planning on enjoying our yogurt in the cafe, we were brought to a table with Chobani logoed seats, then given menus.
I’d already done my research online and knew what I wanted to try. I just didn’t know which size. There are two to chose from- half for $4.75 or full for $5.95. If you need help deciding, in the words of the person taking our orders- it all depends on how hungry you are! So I went with full.
It was a tough decision as I really wanted to try all of the yogurt creations on the menu but I settled with a sweet yogurt creation, Pistachio + Chocolate which had pistachios, dark chocolate, orange, clover honey and fresh mint.
Fortunately since my mom, dad and brother were with me, they ordered some creations which I was able to taste too which included Fig + Walnut- dried figs, clover honey and walnuts. And also a savory yogurt creation Zucchini Pesto + Tomato- zucchini pesto, roasted cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, balsamic reduction, parmesan crumbles, extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, black pepper and served with pita chips.
