Out of the several wineries there are to visit in Mendoza Argentina, one we went to was Belasco de Baquedano.
We visited 2 wineries in Chile and one in Mendoza before Belasco de Baquedano. I don’t drink wine so even though it is interesting to visit the place, it does seem to get repetitive.
However, Belasco de Baquedano is worth writing about because of it’s Sala de los Aromas or Aroma Room.
Here’s a video I shot while in the aroma room:
There are 46 fragrances in the room. The thing that you smell out of is called Plexiglas. The Aroma Room’s floors and walls are painted which makes the room completely burgundy. This room also serves as a tank room, with the tanks beneath the floor.
The aromas are supposed to “sharpen your senses and allow you to store away in your memory all the aromas that can be discovered in wines”, according to a brochure from Belasco de Baquedano. Though for me, it was just fun to stick my nose in 46 different cylinders.
